As the most popular spirit in the country of China, Baijiu is widely produced in all of China’s provinces. However, the very best Baijiu comes from two very specific places in China: Sichuan Province and Guizhou Province, which lie adjacent to each other in the southwest of the country. These provinces are the birthplace of Baijiu, and to this day, they continue their legacy of distinction by making the very best Baijiu available in the world.
It is not a coincidence that Sichuan Province and Guizhou Province are geographically in the same region, as the southwest of China has an excellent climate for producing Baijiu. It is spring year-round, with mild temperatures and consistently good humidity. Moreover, the soil in this region is rich with nutrients, and the water flows down from the nearby mountains, the process of which acts as a natural filter, ensuring the water used in the Baijiu is always naturally pure.
